Sunday Social

I'm linking up with Ashley and Neely for this week's Sunday Social!  I missed last week, so I'm glad to be back!

1. What is one movie you are terrified to watch?
I don't do scary movies AT ALL.  They terrify me.  I can hardly watch the previews - the images just stick with me, I'm such a baby.  The most recent scary movie preview that freaked me out was for Mama.  So creepy!!

2. What is one TV show you have always wanted to get into but haven't yet?
It seems like everyone lately has been raving about Downton Abbey, but I've never seen it.  I've already decided that one of my summer activities will be to watch it all on Netflix.  Also, a lot of my students have told me that I should start watching Big Bang Theory, so maybe I'll check that one out this summer, too!  I don't want to start any new shows while school is still in session, since I think it will be too much distraction on top of the shows that I already am keeping up with!

3. What is one daring activity on your bucket list?
I just scrolled through my 101 in 1001 list and there is nothing daring on there... I am starting to slowly realize that I am boring.  Or maybe I've just already done all of the cool stuff that I've always wanted to do.  My husband and I have talked about hiking the John Muir Trail, which is a pretty big adventure!  Hopefully someday we will make that happen.

4. Would you ever travel alone?
I did travel alone for two years after college when I worked as a consultant for my sorority - I traveled all over the United States and Canada visiting college chapters.  I don't know if I would ever go on a vacation alone, though, or travel internationally by myself.  I would consider it if it was part of a group thing where I was meeting up with people I didn't know before (like a guided tour), but I don't think I would ever be able to backpack around Europe by myself like some people do.

5. What activities do you like to do alone?
I prefer to shop alone - I feel like I am imposing on the other person if I take a while trying on clothes when I'm with someone else (unless it's my sister or very best friends, or my mom or MIL).  I am pretty independent and am happy to do just about anything alone - when I traveled for Theta I got very comfortable being by myself, but still doing the things that I like to do.  When you have a husband in the Army, it's also good to know how to be by yourself and still have fun.  Obviously it's more fun to have friends to go out with if that's possible, though!

When I was living alone in Cleveland for work, before I got married, I decided that the only two things that would be too awkward to do solo are an amusement park and a fondue restaurant.  Everything else is fair game, though!  I've gone to restaurants, movies, and even a play by myself.

Don't forget to link up with me and Jenn tomorrow for 5 for Five - set five goals for the week and share them with all of Blogland.  It will hold you more accountable and help you to be more productive!

I guess I should also dip into Downtown Abbey. And I agree that shopping is definitely easier alone, especially when I want to look around a lot.

Cheers, Stephanie

Being a science teacher I think you might love the Big Bang Theory. But then again maybe not. I haven't had the time to research all the awesome things that have been introduced on the show to check the validity. But it is the greatest sitcom ever.

I missed the boat on Downton Abbey and Big Bang too! I just started watching Downton on Netflix though - hoping to get completely caught up before season 3! And shopping alone is the best :)

I want to watch Downton Abbey too. Seems to be a big hit! Big Bang Theory is one of my absolute favorite shows. I definitely recommend it.

Scary movie previews are so awful. Especially at night when you're watching something happy and it sneaks up on you!

I'm the same way about shopping solo!

You HAVE to start watching The Big Bang Theory! Oddly enough it is one of the few American shows they play here in Australia. I had never seen it before moving here and I love it now. My husband (who usually doesn't like shows like this) is a bit of a science geek and he is now obsessed!

I am the same exact way with scary movies. Even the previews can keep me up at night!
And shopping alone is just more therapeutic. Gotta be able to take our time!

Stopping by from the link up :)
