Recipe Recap: Overnight Oatmeal

Mason jars are my new obsession.  I want to get some bigger ones to make more stuff in them, like salads.  For now, I just have the half-pint size, which are perfect for breakfast on the go.

I've mentioned a few times that I am trying to eat cleaner, so last weekend, I made this:

Overnight Oatmeal (recipe found here)

I ended up making one serving, which would be enough to fill a pint-sized mason jar, and divided it up between two of my half-pints to make two days' worth at a time.  It could not have been any easier to make - it literally took me five minutes.

It was SO good that I wished I had a whole pint of it, but half the serving is still a good amount of food!  It tasted just as great when I ate the other half on the second day, too.

I used almond milk as suggested in the recipe, and could definitely taste it - but I like it, so that worked out.  This week, I might try making it with real milk to see if I like it that way better.  This is my new favorite breakfast for taking to school - it is nice to switch it up from my usual yogurt and granola!

I'm also planning to try different flavors (dried cherries and blueberries, no cinnamon, etc.) - what flavors would you make??  I'd love to hear your ideas so I can try them out!!

Looks and sounds delicious! I use Steel-Cut oats, and make it every single morning. Do you think this would work with rolled oats grainier cousin?

Yum! Do you heat it or eat it cold? Not sure if you already have info on Mason Jar Salads, but I recently read a blog post on that very thing. Here's the link if you want more info:
