Sunday Social - Middle School/High School

Linking up with Ashley and Neely for this week's Sunday Social.  Today, we are talking about middle school and high school.  I wanted to add pictures, but my hard drive works when it wants to, and today it seems to not be feeling it.  Sowwy.  I'll try and add them in later if I can.

Update: I got two pictures out of it before it stopped responding!  I need to get a new hard drive.

Sunday Social

1. What was your biggest middle school fashion mistake?
I don't even know where to begin, because pretty much everything I wore in middle school was a fashion mistake.  Especially in 6th grade.  I am the oldest and had nobody to teach me how to dress myself.  After 6th grade, I started copying what the other kids would wear, so it got a little bit better, but I still had some heinous clothing items.  Like a pair of embroidered bell-bottom overalls.  They were awful.  I am so sad that I don't have a picture of those to share, but it's probably for the better.
The open flannel shirt was also a great look.  The safety goggles aren't even that bad in comparison.

2.  Who were your best friends in high school?  Pics?
Natale and I were best friends from kindergarten until halfway through high school, when we had a big falling out and stopped being friends for a while.  But we're friends again now, so it's okay.  After that, I had a core-group of girls (and guys) that I would hang out with regularly, and we were all close.
Me and Natalie at the beach... in our overalls, naturally.
When we were younger, we used to tell people we were sisters.

3.  What was a typical weekend like for you in high school?
Usually on Friday nights I would go to football or basketball games at school, then hang out with my friends after.  Lots of sleepovers at friends' houses.  And on most Saturdays, I had a dance competition either with the school team or my studio team.  Sometimes I'd babysit.  Church youth group on Sunday was usually followed by more hanging out with friends after.  And I studied.  I stayed pretty busy!

4.  Did you have any boyfriends?  Tell us about that.
I had a couple, I'd say I started dating my sophomore year.  My senior year I had a pretty serious boyfriend... really serious, actually... I married him about 6 years later!

5.  Did you have any secret codes with your friends?  Spill your secrets!
Natalie and I would make up secret code names for the boys that we liked.  The ones I remember are "The Lion" and "Fishface."  We would write each other notes and use the names in them in case the note got found, and we would also talk about them in the halls using the names.  We also used to call tampons "pon-tons" so that we could ask each other for them in front of people without being embarrassed.  Like, "Hey can you put a pon-ton in my locker before you go to class, I'll want it later and I forgot mine."

6.  If you could relive one day/moment/experience from middle school or high school, what would it be?
Definitely not anything from middle school - that was awkward city and I would never go back.  I'd probably relive any home game weekend in high school - those were always super fun, so it's hard to choose just one.

I'm also sad you don't have a photo of those overalls! That'd be amazing!
