I think I pulled it off...

A.K.A. Pinterest-inspired outfits #3 and 4.

I love  the clothes I see on Pinterest.  So I try to copy them.  I made it one of my 101 in 1001 goals to wear 10 outfits inspired by Pinterest.  Some of the outfits that I like are things that I normally wouldn't come up with on my own, so I kind of stepped out of my comfort zone a little bit with these last two, and I think I like it.

Pin-Spiration #3:
(this one was actually a combination of two outfits)

I loved these outfits so much that I asked for that exact cowl for Christmas, and my Secret Elf got it for me this year!  Thanks, Bekah!!  Which reminds me, I still need to recap Christmas... anyway...

My version (which I wore to work):
Cowl - Etsy (here's the link!)
Sweater - Target (so old)
Striped t-shirt - Apt. 9 at Kohl's
Crops - Gap (on clearance in store)
Shoes - Sole Society "Rielle"

I took the stripes and sweater idea from the outfit in the first picture, and decided to wear something red with the honey-colored scarf thanks to the outfit in the second pic.  I got lots of compliments on my clothes from my students this day!

Here's a close-up of the scarf.  Remember this is before work, so it was like 6:30am and my eyes hadn't fully opened quite yet.
I love this cowl!!  Makes me wish it was colder so I could wear it more!

On to the next one...

Pin-Spiration #4:

Now, this outfit is very different than anything I would normally wear, but I had just about all the pieces, so I decided to give it a go!  I wore it out to dinner and a movie with some girlfriends this weekend.

My version:
I could NOT get a non-blurry picture this night. Sorry.
 Scarf - NYC street vendor
 Shirt - American Eagle
Pants - Rock N Republic for Kohls (no longer available)
Boots - Steve Madden

I actually had this outfit in mind when Andrew and I were in New York City, when I picked up the giraffe-print scarf from a street vendor for just $5.  I don't usually wear animal prints, but at that price I figured I could give it a go!  I think it was a pretty fun outfit.  Definitely not a combination I would put together on my own, but it worked somehow.  I think hope.  I am not a fashion expert at all, so I could be totally wrong here.

Would you wear these combinations??

Don't forget!  Today is the last day to enter my Thirty-One giveaway!  And you only have a few more days to shop my party - it closes Saturday!  More information is here!

Linking up with Jane, Jamie, Chantal, and Sara for Wednesday Walkabout!

I love both of your outfits! I really need to branch out and start wearing more than my mom/student wardrobe of leggins, tunics, and Uggs. Haha! I kind of like your idea for the pinterest inspired outfits. I really should make a list...I've slowly been putting one together but haven't really done much with it....

Oh you totally pulled it off! I'm really bad about branching out with my clothes/style- I should take some more risks like you did.
